Routed proudly reaches B-BBEE Level 5 Status

We are proud to announce that we have attained B-BBEE Level 5 Status – a noteworthy achievement for a small business like Routed.

This journey began while we were a ‘Micro Enterprise’ and were able to self-certify at Level 4. Since becoming a QSE (Qualifying Small Enterprise) Routed consistently improved our rating with each annual audit, reaching Level 8 in 2020, Level 7 in 2021, and now Level 5. This significant milestone represents our continued dedication to align our operational plans with our transformation objectives, and we have viable options available to further improve Routed’s score to Level 4 and lower over time.

Not only does Level 5 status offer tangible benefits for our customers, but it is a clear demonstration of the ongoing commitment to meaningful transformation in South Africa, and the growth of the economy, all while playing our part in tackling youth employment and skills development to uplift local communities.

We see this milestone as part of a broader and critically important task where we play an active and responsible role in improving South Africa. Through our Enterprise and Supplier Development initiatives, we have provided interest-free loans to young black entrepreneurs in order to assist them to kick start their businesses from the ground up via Propella Enterprise Development. We have also assisted one of our most promising 100% black women-owned suppliers, Ambit Connect, with interest-free loans since 2019.

Routed prides itself on taking a strategic approach in attracting, retaining and developing high-performing talent as well as providing career pathways for unemployed graduates and disabled individuals. Since 2019, we have been grateful for the opportunity to sponsor previously disadvantaged and disabled learners through 12-month learnerships to enhance their education and potential career paths. To date, we have fully sponsored the education of nine learners and provided them with monthly stipends. Going forward, these sponsorships will be more IT focused to help alleviate the technical skills shortages, in our country, South Africa.

We are especially proud of taking a thoughtful and authentic approach to our BEE initiatives and it was first and foremost undertaken as the right thing to do. We are pleased to have been able to make significant investments in all these areas to date and look forward to continuing to do so.
